“We must resurrect Wild Woman and stir within us – through a deliberate choice of perspective – the adventure… The sense of adventure comes from a choice. And the choice is that we choose to look at life not as a burden, not as a hardship, not as a maze that we have to find our way through, or the hard knocks of life are coming to get us, but as a treasure chest, full of adventure, we need but reach out. It has as its very foundation the belief that life is good; life is benevolent.”
Almine evokes the exuberance and vibrancy of Wild Woman – the original feminine that was feared, mistrusted and deemed suspect. Through the world’s religions this aspect of our being was accordingly suppressed and replaced with a meek, sedate version of ‘the feminine’.
As Almine explains, Wild Woman is fundamental to our awareness of the divine, representing the first point of contact with the nuances felt from the Infinite – as inspiration. Without her, this connection is broken.
This is the fourth video in Almine’s discourse Reclaiming the Cosmic Underworld, recorded at the Shamanic Women’s Retreat in September 2013.

Thank you Rogier, it all resonated so deeply, but particularly towards the end of the clip…regarding how one views life. That Life was not meant to be viewed as a hardship or a maze to struggle through, but as a benevolent “adventure”… This is key for me, because I keep slipping into that perspective that life is something to “overcome” and rise above…”without even realizing it.”

I love this! I was exactly like the little girl Wild Woman that Almine describes! And I was given so much freedom by my parents that it was possible. We tried to give this to our daughter to, and she was also like this in rural France and Scotland and Dartmoor where we raised her. For many women though it may be an inner identity only, as not all parents are able to offer such a relatively natural childhood. I am truly sure that this IS how little girls are inside!

Is it true that the Whale Songs played during the Solstice Ceremony invoked Wild Woman? it certainly felt like it to me. I’d love to hear those again. Is there any chance of this?

Hello Jane… a quick little update I heard ‘through the grapevine’:
One of the Song of the Whales will be made available on YouTube within a few weeks…
Keep an eye out here on the diary and on the newsletter to catch it when it comes out.

……yesterday as I groomed a garden in a busy neighborhood…a group of children guided by their teachers walked by singing Jingle Bells!…….the teacher did ask the group of 15 children if they knew any other songs….but they insisted on repeating this favourite!!!!….I said to myself …how odd,at this time,on a hot summer/fall day!….and as I listen to Almine post she speaks of Santa Claus!!!
